MUMBAI : Actor Taapsee Pannu seems to be a fan of Indian superstar Shah Rukh Khan, much like the majority of people on this planet. The actor recently talked candidly about her time spent working with the man whose admirers lovingly refer to him as King Khan. Taapsee praised SRK as smart and witty, adding that his distinct aura and magnetism set him apart from other movie stars.
Speaking to the popular news portal, Taapsee said, "(Shah Rukh Khan is) Not just an icon in front of the camera. His certain roles and dialogues will be remembered for generations. But also, the person he is behind the camera. That wit, that smartness, that spontaneity. Wow. You can just keep looking and listening to him like a fly on the wall, because that man has got so much aura, charisma."
"You don't have to look a certain way to have that aura. He is so well-read, so good at his reasoning. Once, I was telling him that I don't believe in buying people to talk good about me, and he was like, 'There are billboards, right? And you pay them for your ads, where you want to show something to the audience. So, people who want to be paid for writing or saying something good about you, they should be treated like billboards too. They should be used as marketing tools,'" Taapsee added.
The actor claimed that Shah Rukh Khan's "extreme smart" enabled him to influence people. "For a person who doesn't believe in buying out people in that fashion, I also kept thinking, 'Yeah, they are billboards.' So he changed my perspective so quickly, which only an extremely smart man can do."
The late-year film Dunki is directed by Rajkumar Hirani, and stars Shah Rukh Khan and Taapsee Pannu. Taapsee has also collaborated with Amitabh Bachchan in the SRK-backed movie Badla.
