MUMBAI: Farhan Akhtar is one of the most talented artistes in Bollywood. Besides being an actor, he has created his own niche in the industry by being a director and producer as well as a musician and singer. From films like Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara to Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and the latest one The Sky Is Pink, he has proved his mettle on the big screen, one movie after another.
The actor is celebrating his birthday today (January 09) and on this occasion, take a tour of his sprawling bungalow.
Farhan had purchased his house back in 2009, for around Rs 35 crore. The luxurious property is spread over a vast 10,000 square feet area and is called 'Vipassana', which is situated near Shah Rukh Khan's 'Mannat'.
The actor resides in it with his dogs - Jim and Tyson and girlfriend, Shibani Dandekar.
Farhan's living room is colourful with several neutral tones and has several leather armchairs with an ivory sofa set. On the couch, there are multi-coloured cushions with all kinds of patterns that give the place a bohemian feel. The wooden flooring compliments the space and a red-coloured rug placed in the middle of the room that instantly gives the living-space a 'luxurious vibe'.
He also has a telescope to look through the window.
In the extended space of the living, the room has brown furniture which goes well with the wooden flooring. There is a seating area adjacent to the wide windows. He usually shares photos with his daughter and this photo, in particular, he is seen singing with her on his guitar. Every room of his has books.
With sharp corner and mismatched furniture, Farhan's house is all about being cosy and homely with his choice of pieces to decorate his home. Besides this, he also a wall full of frames which seem to be pictures of his family. The ceiling has warm lights with a beautiful print on the shades that look artistic. The 47-year-old’s home boasts a hotel-luggage-trolley-like bookshelf, a comfortable white armchair and reading light, making it another quaint corner.

The actor has a cosy bedroom that boats of different hues of brown with white walls. With vintage furniture, Farhan's bed has a bench along with it that makes the room spacious.
The luxurious house also has an in-built gym room where the actor works out. With a lighter-coloured wooden flooring, the room has a mini staircase with all the equipment stacked up on shelves.
