Team 'Highway' visits Bengaluru

Team ‘Highway’, comprising of Imtiaz Ali and the female lead Alia Bhatt, sans the male lead Randeep Hooda, was in Bengaluru yesterday to mingle with the local paparazzi less than a week before its slated release. The damsel initially seemed to have some jitters when she was told that she was on her own to face the big bad world of media once her joint interaction with Ali and the reporters concluded, but then picked up courage and answered questions with style. Now some information about the flick – one of the press releases says “Shooting for Imtiaz Ali's film 'Highway', starring Alia Bhatt and Randeep Hooda with music by A.R. Rahman, was wrapped on 28 May. The film, presented by Sajid Nadiadwala, will release on 21 February, 2014. “This film had the most number of locations in a film for me, and yet the shortest span of shoot,” said Imtiaz. “Of course that's how it should have been for a movie called Highway. This shooting has been the most intense and liberating journey.” Said Alia: “There’s no place to begin if I start talking about the film and I won't stop. So I would rather save my emotions for myself to know.” Reportedly, despite a really challenging shoot across six Indian states, Highway wrapped up proceedings eight days in advance. Although the entire shoot was planned for 60 days, Imtiaz and team finished the same in 52 days. Along the way the team members claim that they had to face extreme weather conditions and negotiate very difficult terrain. From the sub-zero temperatures of snow-clad upper Himachal to the near 50 degree centigrade highs in the last schedule in Gurgaon; from bus and train travel in Rajashtan to hotels with no electricity or water in Kaza (Himachal) and treacherous treks in heavy rains in Kashmir, there were roadblocks all along the Highway. The movie deserves a dekko!!!
