The movie has already hit the big screens and garnered a massive amount of appreciation from the audience for firstly being a true story with not so much extra ‘masala’ and keeping things as authentic as possible, secondly, a not-so-much touched subject and unique storyline. Along with John Abraham, the movie also features Sadia Khateeb, Prapti Shukla, Sharib Hashmi, Jagjeet Sandhu and Ashwath Bhatt.
In an exclusive interview with Tellychakkar, The Diplomat was compared to the Hollywood movie Argo and Shivam Nair added some very interesting points as to why the Hollywood movie comes to mind.
On referring to the John Abraham starrer as the desi version of Argo, Shivam Nair said that though Argo was a great movie, they have made The Diplomat based on a true story that took place in India. He clarified that he did not try to make a movie like Argo, even though there have been many movies in the past which were like Argo, but while shooting for the movie, he had ‘Argo’ running in the back of his mind.
