The unending search for Ajay Devgn's third heroine in Prabhu Deva's next

Ajay Devgn
As per plans, Prabhu Deva’s next film with Ajay Devgn in the lead which goes on the floors in July, would have three leading ladies. While Sonakshi Sinha and Yami Gautam have been finalized for two of the female protagonists’ parts, the question is, who will play the third heroine? Apparently Prabhu is facing a tough time getting the third heroine in place. Sources say the ‘Sonakshi factor’ has put the other girls on the defensive. Says a source close to the project, “All the three leading ladies have strong roles opposite Ajay in the film. But since Sonakshi has done three films already with Prabhu Deva (Rowdy Rathore, the cameo in Oh My God and Rambo Rajkumar) and is seen as Prabhu’s blue-eyed girl, the other female leads are proving tough to cast. In fact, Prabhu is lucky Yami loved her role and agreed to hop on board in spite of Sonakshi’s presence in the film. Getting a third heroine to agree to be in a film that already has Prabhu’s favourite Sonakshi and Yami is a bummer.” One recalls the frantic search Yash Chopra had to go through before he got Karisma Kapoor to agree to share screen space with Madhuri Dixit in Dil To Pagal Hai. And the stress that Anurag Basu went through before Ileana d’Cruz agreed to be in Barfi in spite of Priyanka Chopra is still fresh. When contacted Prabhu Deva admitted Sonakshi and Yami were on in the Ajay project. “We’re looking for a third heroine. But all the girls are so busy and booked for months and years. We need an A-lister.” About Sonakshi being his favourite Prabhu laughs, “She is very professional and great fun to work with. We hit it off during Rowdy Rathore. She is just finishing Rambo Rajkumar with me. We finish on 15 June in Satara. And then she starts the Ajay project with me in July. I am lucky she is so accommodating about my projects.”
