MUMBAI: Rekha has been one of the most iconic and legendary leading ladies in Bollywood. Her choice in films was impeccable and her grace and talent till date remains unmatchable.

She is the daughter of Tamil matinee idol Gemini Ganesan. He along with MG Ramachandran and Sivaji Ganesan formed the great triumvirate of superstars in the 1950s and then the 1960s of the Tamil cinema.
Reportedly, during his lifetime, the superstar was not close to his daughter Rekha and he had three wives. Rekha’s mother Pushpavalli was Gemini’s second and unofficial wife. Back in 2005 when he passed away, Rekha opened up about grieving him and said, “why should I grieve for him when he’s so much part of me?”
The actress added that she is grateful for his genes, teachings, rich life and she was happy that she didn’t have to share unpleasant moments with him. The actress pressed that he existed for her in her imagination and that was more beautiful than reality.
