MUMBAI: Bollywood diva Anushka Sharma and Indian skipper Virat Kohli are all set to embrace parenthood. They announced this happy news in August and since then no one can keep calm. However, Virat Kohli has now taken his paternity leave. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday confirmed that they have granted paternity leave to Virat Kohli, who will return from Team India’s upcoming tour of Australia after the first Test. The BCCI in an official release confirmed that Kohli had informed the board about his plans to return home for the birth of his first child. After staying with him throughout IPL 2020, Anushka Sharma will once again get some time to spend with Virat during her last trimester.
“At the selection committee meeting held on October 26th, 2020, Mr Virat Kohli had informed the BCCI about his plans to return to India after the first Test in Adelaide. The BCCI has granted paternity leave to the Indian captain. He will return after the first Test against Australia in Adelaide,” BCCI’s release stated. The ODIs will start on November 27 followed by matches on November 29 and December 2. The T20Is will be held on December 4, 6 and 8 followed by the first of the four-Test matches in Adelaide from December 17
Virat and Anushka shared a picture posing together as they announced the good news on social media. "And then, we were three! Arriving Jan 2021," Virat and Anushka wrote in their social media posts.
Talking about embracing parenthood for the first time, he said, “It is an incredible feeling. It puts things into perspective for you. It is a beautiful feeling. It is difficult to describe how you feel, but when we found it, we were over the moon. When we announced the kind of love that was showered on us it was amazing. People were genuinely so emotional and happy for us. We are looking forward to the third member joining the clan
