In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Adhyayan Suman shared that it took someone like Sushant to take his more than precious life for people to realise the ill effects of nepotism and groupism. He was quoted saying, "Power dynamics and groupism are there in the industry since years. It happened with me too. My 14 films were shelved and the box-office collection of my films were projected wrongly. People haven’t paid attention to this earlier. It’s very unfortunate that we required a Sushant Singh Rajput to commit suicide for people to realise. I am pretty sure that there might be some pressure as well even if it’s a suicide and not a murder. Because I understand the bigger you get here, they put the pressure on you and no one knows what their intentions are behind all these. It is very difficult to trust anybody in our industry.”
Further, Adhyayan strongly mentioned that instead of nepotism, people should fight groupism in Bollywood. He mentioned camps and clans existing in the industry and even the production houses that do not allow talent to flourish.

In the conclusion, Shekhar Suman's son expressed his disappointment over netizens bashing star children in the ongoing debate over nepotism as he himself is one. He finally quoted, "People are blaming the star kids which is not right. I am also a star kid but still am struggling and haven’t done a big banner film. People troll me saying that my dad has given me films. Where are these films?"
Meanwhile, Adhyayan's ex-girlfriend Kangana Ranaut is in the front of the debate strongly opposing nepotism in Bollywood post the death of Sushant Singh Rajput. She has been sharing her strong opinions on social media regularly.
