MUMBAI: Actress Madhuri Dixit experienced many ups and downs in her career during the 1990s. She adhered to her requirements while working with her co-stars even as she was making a name for herself in the entertainment world with her adaptable performances and heartwarming laughter. However, she did have to deal with a few unpleasant circumstances. Recently, a tweet from 2017 that mentioned Annu Kapoor's account of how Madhuri was made to experience a rape scene came up online.

The legendary actor had mentioned the event on a previous episode of his radio program Suhana Safar with Annu Kapoor. He was overheard discussing how Madhuri was made to film a rape scene with Ranjeet, one of Bollywood's well-known villains. When she voiced her worries, the film's director told her she couldn't back out of it. The internet user continued by pointing out that Kapoor employed a "tone-deaf narration" and that the cast and crew of the movie applauded the actress when the scene was over even though she was too shaken to speak.
The text in the tweet states, “Annu Kapoor's tone-deaf narration made the incident a juicy tidbit, not the disgusting exploitation it was. While me and my friend cringed and felt deeply uncomfortable, our cab driver thought it was hilarious and laughed at the "rape scene toh hoga" punchline.”
As they read about the instances, internet users were shocked; some even shared accounts of similar terrible incidents that actresses at the time had to deal with.

Prem Pratigya featured Madhuri, Mithun Chakraborty, and Vinod Verma as the main parts for the uninitiated. According to popular news reports, the scene ended horribly because Ranjeet tightened his hold on the Dhak Dhak girl, causing her to quake. He wouldn't get go of her, and the actress became enraged. She continued to scream at him in front of everyone, telling him not to touch her.
