The film Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai made Hrithik Roshan an overnight sensation. His fans still love to watch the film.

MUMBAI: Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai is one of the most popular Bollywood films. The super-hit film made Hrithik Roshan an overnight sensation. His fans still love to watch the film. The movie opened to a grand opening at the box-office but did you know before Ameesha Patel it was Kareena Kapoor who was roped in for the role of Sonia Saxena? Yes, you read that right. It was Kareena Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan who were set to make a grand launch under Rakesh Roshan’s profound direction with this super-hit movie. And for the obvious reasons, Kareena Kapoor was super excited to star in the movie.

But unfortunately Bebo’s mother Babita did not like the working style of Mr Roshan. It happened post the mahurat shot of the movie when the first schedule was shot in Versova, Mumbai and Bebo had to shoot for some song sequence. But soon afterwards, Babita started interfering and told Rakesh Roshan to shoot for scenes first and songs can be pulled later. Reportedly, Babita’s interference made him furious as not shooting for songs would incur him huge losses. Rakesh Roshan tried explaining Babita that Bebo is doing good and things are working out but Mrs Kapoor was in no mood to accept the offer put by Mr Roshan.

Her comment made the filmmaker take a stand as Babita addressed him and tagged him of being unprofessional, following which Kareena eventually was dropped out of the movie. Rakesh Roshan had then stated, “Kareena is a newcomer and should be treated like one, she cannot call the shots just because she’s Karisma’s sister. Babita should have spoken to me like a newcomer’s mother and shouldn’t have demanded more than she owed.”

However, the role went to Ameesha Patel and Hrithik Roshan made his debut with the same film and Kareena went on to star in Refugee.
