MUMBAI : Recently, actor Vaibhav Tatwawadi, who will next be seen in the film A Wedding Story, had the opportunity to shoot with legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar. The two collaborated on a commercial for one of the biggest Maharashtrian snack brands, which has become a global sensation. The innovative yet emotional commercial, directed by Varun Narvekar, was shot in Mumbai and Pune and is now available for viewing.
Sharing his experience of working with the master blaster, Vaibhav says, "Working with Sachin Tendulkar Sir was a surreal experience. I've always looked up to him since childhood, and meeting him was incredibly overwhelming. I literally had tears in my eyes. He is the epitome of grace and humility. When I met him, I told him that I was finding it difficult to speak because of how overwhelming it was; I was almost choking up, telling him that my whole childhood was flashing before my eyes. He simply smiled so graciously, and that made the atmosphere comfortable."
He also adds, "My first impression of him left me in complete awe. When he introduced himself, it only deepened my admiration. During our meeting, when we suggested taking a photo together, he mentioned that his mother would be happy because she had seen my work, as well as the work of the other two actors who were with me. Knowing that his mother had seen and appreciated our work was quite overwhelming."
Vaibhav, who has an impressive filmography, has also worked on quite a few commercials. He feels that there is no difference between the mediums. He adds, "People often ask me about the difference between the mediums. I believe there’s no difference. For me, it’s all the same, whether it’s television, a commercial, or a web series. As an actor, you just have to sincerely do your work, no matter which medium you are in. I take full interest in each of my assignments and put all my energy into making them successful and memorable."
