MUMBAI: Selena Gomez may be one of the most well-known names in the music business, but she doesn't think of herself as an unreachable celebrity. The 31-year-old is currently hard at work on her new album and her cosmetics company Rare Beauty.
She recently returned from France following the prestigious Paris Fashion Week. She recently spoke out on fame and how she perceives herself as a public figure and pop singer with a number of singles to her credit.

Gomez spoke candidly about where she believes she sits in the industry in terms of fame and relatability, "I'm not unattainable," she started off. "I look at someone like a Beyoncé, and I am amazed. My jaw drops. Every part of her is just impeccable, and it's just so beautiful. I went to her show and was blown away. But I'm just not that, and that's okay.”
Regardless of what she thinks about her own fame, Gomez has a successful career of her own. In her 20-year career, she has played a variety of roles, including Alex Russo in the popular Disney series Wizards of Waverly Place and Mabel Mora in Only Murders in the Building on Hulu. She is among the top 5 most followed users on Instagram and is the most followed female person. One of the most well-known celebrity brand names is Rare Beauty.
She and Rema recently shared the Best Afrobeats honor at the 2023 VMAs for their popular song Calm Down. These were only a few of the highlights; the list is endless. She prefers to be relatable and authentic above being successful.
"I'm me, and I'm a little silly, but I also like being sexy and fun, and I also want to do good with the time I have here," she says.
Gomez enjoys staying approachable and feeling at ease with who she is.
She talked about Adele, "We need goddesses like Beyoncé and Adele. But I'm just happy to be your best friend." In 2019 Gomez founded Rare Beauty, which she then put online in 2020. It is one of the best beauty brands that famous people own, and the list is in no way short.
