MUMBAI: Indeed one of the most talked about movies of the year is Yaariyan 2, the movie which is directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru has some amazing talents like Divya Khosla Kumar, Yash Dasgupta, Anaswara Rajan, Meezaan Jafri, Warina Hussain, Priya Prakash Varrier and Pearl V Puri. Much before the release the teaser, trailer and the songs were grabbing the attention of the fans and finally the movie has the big screens and here is the full review of the movie.
The premise of the movie deals with 3 cousins, Laadli, Shikhar and Bajju, which is played by Divya Khosla Kumar, Meezaan Jafri and Pearl V Puri respectively, they are the siblings, but the bond is as strong as the best of friends. Whatever the situation in their lives, they share it with each other and they have each other's back every time. All three are now heading their lives but all of them have few challenges in their respective lives and how they are facing these challenging situations with the help of each other is the plot of the movie.
The screenplay of the movie is strictly decent and average, it will grab your attention at a few scenes but lose its grip many times in between. The direction given by Vinay and Radhika is strictly average. Definitely it is a treat to watch the city of Mumbai in the movie, because few scenes are captured beautifully.
Talking about the performances, Divya Khosla Kumar the Leading lady of the movie is definitely looking very beautiful on screen But fails to impress in terms of acting in few scenes, especially in the emotional sequences. On the other hand, Meezaan Jafri has a good on screen presence but definitely has to work on his dialogue delivery, the main name that has grabbed our attention in terms of acting is of Pearl V Puri and Yash Dasgupta.These two actors have nailed it in terms of performances and has given some of the best scenes. On the other hand other actors like Warina Hussain, Priya Prakash Varrier have very less to offer but they were looking beautiful on screen.
Talking about the positive points of the movie, it has to be the emotions in the movie. All three cousins are facing issues in their lives and the emotions which are captured in the movie are beautiful. The music of the movie has to be one of the high points of the movie. There are a few songs which are situational in the movie and definitely add value to the viewing experience. The performances coming from the actors Pearl V Puri and Yash Dasgupta are a treat to watch and can be one of the high points of the movie.
On one hand the movie has few positive points, but the movie has few negative points too, there are many scenes in the movie that fall flat that have nothing to offer like we have seen in a usual love story and a breakup story. The performance of the actress Divya Khosla Kumar is falling flat at few places which is a big pull down for the movie. Also there are many songs that look a little forceful in the movie which definitely pull your interest down. Actresses like Warina Hussain, Priya Prakash Varrier were wasted in the movie and they had very less to offer. Actor Pearl V Puri has given one of the best performances among the actors present in the movie but unfortunately he was missing in the major portion of the second half.
Well having said all these points, the movie Yaariyan 2 will definitely take you to an emotional roller coaster wide ride with the backdrop of the beautiful bond of siblings and friendship.
