Akshay Kumar is back.... and with a deafening bang!
The first teaser of the Khiladi’s much talked about Airlift is finally out.
The movie based on India’s most ‘heroic’ mission of evacuating Indians during the Gulf war in Kuwait, stars Nimrat Kaur as his wife.
Akshay who is known for his action hero acts looks impressive in this edge of the seat thriller.
The teaser opens with his character, Ranjeet Katial introducing himself as a powerful business tycoon settled in Kuwait. He further states the ordeal of how everything went for a toss for him and the 1, 70,000 Indians in the Gulf, when Iraq invaded the country.
Set in the backdrop of the 1990 war, the movie is a true story of the evacuation of Indians from Kuwait.
The set has been recreated to get the feel of the 90s and we must say it looks impressive. The ‘real looking’ shots of the military invasion, and helplessness of the innocent people will make you cringe.
The scene of the National Flag being restored at the embassy will also reinstate the Indian in you. The makers have stuck to their patriotic emotions that we saw in D-Day and Baby. This teaser is bound to give you goose bumps!
Directed by Raja Krishna Menon, Airlift is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Nikkhil Advani, Aruna Bhatia, Monisha Advani, Madhu G Bhojwani and Vikram Malhotra.
The release of the film has been strategically placed during Republic Day (22 January).
