The trailer opens with the breath-taking landscape of Bulgaria and takes us through the life of an everyday man who embodies Shiva when the time arrives.
Ajay Devgn, who has directed and produced the magnum opus, plays a simple mountaineer has to become a destroyer and protector when his family and friends are threatened.
Even though the trailer doesn’t necessarily tell a story, the visuals give us a glimpse of what to expect from the much-anticipated movie. At over three minutes, the long trailer packs quite a punch, what with Ajay occupying the frames with his massive screen presence and nuanced acting.
With a relatively new cast, the trailer looks fresh and different. The plot is steeped in Hindu mythology, with a voiceover of Shiva mantra running in the background.
The camera work is incredible that effortlessly moves between snow-capped Bulgaria and its trendy city life. There’s no background on why a common man transforms into a mean-machine, but that’s for us to watch in the film.
The trailer is intense and gripping, while the cinematography is truly mind-blowing. The movie is slated for October 28, 2016, clashing with Aye Dil Hai Mushkil.
It stars Ajay Devgn as Shivaay, Sayyeshaa Saigal as Sati, Ali Kazmi as Major Khan, Vir Das, and Erika Kaar, among others.
