#TrailerReview: Prem Ratan Dhan Payo is visually enticing

Prem Ratan Dhan Payo

After almost two decades, Salman ‘Prem’ Khan and Sooraj Barjatya come together in a big-budget, total Diwali fare Prem Ratan Dhan Payo.

If the trailer reminds you of their previous blockbuster hits, it's really not your fault! Because is a typical Barjatya dish, full of glossy frames, extended families, gorgeous mansions and decked-up ladies...

Like a dia-lit home, the trailer opens with the title song and sucks us into the life of Prem aka Salman Khan.

As he so eloquently puts it, ‘I am back’, is the catchphrase of the trailer. It’s indeed good to see the duo from Hum Aapke Hain Koun (HPHK) make a comeback with this family drama.

Salman, in a dual role, perfectly molds himself into Prem and Vijay, without letting his super-stardom supersede the characters. Sonam Kapoor is her stunning self with a bit of acting chops thrown in as well.

The trailer sure is visually delightful, but reeks of the gaudy 90s, what with the melodramatic setting, hopelessly na?ve ladies, grand havelis and old-school background score. Looks like the Barjatyas haven’t been able to go past the HAHK fever.

We hope that Sallu can pull this movie off with his charm alone.

Prem Ratan…also stars Neil Nitin Mukesh and Swara Bhaskar in pivotal roles. Produced by Rajshree Productions, the movie releases on November 12, 2015. Watch the trailer here.
