Rohan Shah and new face Aaradhya to feature in Yeh Hai Aashiqui

Yeh Hai Aashiqui
BBC Worldwide Productions will yet again bring to life a sweet love tale blossoming in the midst of some challenging circumstances. Yes, this Friday (8 August), viewers will see a gripping story of a deaf guy and a rather aggressive girl in Bindass’ Yeh Hai Aashiqui. Playing the role of the deaf guy will be young lad Rohan Shah, who was last seen in Humse Hai Liife. He was also seen as the narrator of The Serial. Giving him company as the lead girl will be newbie, Aaradhya. Again, BBC Worldwide goes through the rigorous exercise of training the freshers and moulding them to play challenging characters, that too for an episodic story. The interesting aspect of this particular story is that special trainers were called on sets to work on Rohan to teach him the sign language required to play the deaf character. His character in the episodic is that of a deaf guy who is slightly hampered in his speech too, but is not completely dumb. So Rohan had the tough task before him to get his act right, of getting his sign language right as per the dialogues he is mouthing. Also, he had to take care of the emotions needed for that particular sequence. A source states, “Trainers were specially called from Ali Yavar Jung National Institute for the Hearing Handicapped for this episode. The actors had great experience learning from them. Rohan started his training with his instructor a week before he could start shooting for the episodic.” When contacted, Palki Malhotra, Creative Producer, BBC said, “Yes, we researched quite a lot to get this story right. Also, we gave extensive training to Rohan who plays a deaf character in the story. Special trainers were called, and we had them directing their chunks too as the entire sequence was in sign language. It was a nice experience to work with Rohan, who has gathered quite a lot of skill in sign language with this learning. Again, BBC took the step of training a fresh girl Aaradhya for this particular story.” Rohan Shah talked of his experience stating, “Yes, I got trained by special instructors to play the deaf character in Yeh Hai Aashiqui. It was a challenge really because the instructor was himself deaf and dumb. So I had to converse with him only in sign language. Also, there was this conscious effort put to get the sign language correct, so that we do not hurt anyone’s sentiments. I took up this role only to play this character. It has been a great learning curve, I must say. Overall, it was fun shooting with Palki m’am and the team of BBC. I am thankful to them for offering me such a complex character.” Rohan is pretty excited for another reason. His movie Shuruvaad Ka Interval which will have a set of short stories will release on 8 August, the same date when this particular episode of Yeh Hai Aashiqui will go on air. “The movie will have a set of short stories. My story is named No Exit and the date 8 August is lucky for me, as my movie too will release in PVR Cinemas on the same date.” Here are exclusive pictures of Palki with the team of instructors, and a picture of Rohan going through his rigorous learning session with his instructor. Watch this gripping love tale in Yeh Hai Aashiqui this Friday (8 August).
