The box-office threw no major surprises this week. Bang Bang running approximately on 4,500 screens was always slated to rule the roost. The movie opened to a bumper response aided superbly by the five day holiday weekend. In just a span of two days, the movie grossed 50 crore ( 27.54 crore on it's opening day and 24.08 crore yesterday) making it one of the top five openers of 2014.
On the other hand, Haider chugged at a turtle's pace collecting about 11.50 crore.
Throwing light on this anamoly, trade analyst Narendra Gupta explains, "Haider has not much entertainment value. The so-called English critics may have rated it well but the word of mouth is not that great for Haider. Bang Bang, on the other hand, is a complete entertainer and family audience will prefer it to Haider."
With the holiday season scheduled to extend till Monday, trade pundits feel 100 crore would be a cake walk for Bang Bang. Avers Narendra, " The way Bang Bang has been running at theaters it should collect 100 crores by Sunday."
For Haider, Narendra opines the movie to collect a maximum of 25 crore before the holiday season ends.
Well, looks like Bang Bang has emerged a clear winner at the box-office.
