Ashiesh Roy and Jhumma Mitra celebrate Children's Day with orphanage kids

Popular TV actors Ashiesh Roy (Hum Hain Na, Jeannie Aur Juju) and Jhumma Mitra (Jeannie Aur Juju) spent Children’s Day at St. Katherine Home – an orphanage in Andheri, with the children. “I do these sort of appearances for purely selfish reasons,” says Ashiesh. Selfish? “Well, I believe there is no love as pure and unabashed as that of a child. And when hundreds of children chant your name or run up to hold your shirt’s sleeve, it is worth more than the biggest award you can possibly get.” Jhumma Mitra, who plays Roy’s better half in the popular serial Jeannie Aur Juju, echoes his sentiment: “To each his own. I would much rather bring joy to these children than sit at home and write dumb, self-centred messages like ‘I refuse to grow up: Happy Children’s Day!’ on social networking sites.” Both spent almost three hours singing, dancing and entertaining the children, much to the delight of everyone present. And before leaving, they thanked Rizoota Kashyap, who organized the event, for making them part of such a thoughtful event.
