“My character’s motivations come from a place of hurt, pride, and personal history”: Rajat Dahiya plays the antagonist in Sony SAB’s Ufff… Yeh Love Hai Mushkil

Rajat Dahiya

MUMBAI: Sony SAB’s Ufff…Yeh Love Hai Mushkil continues to stir up excitement with its unexpected twists and layered characters. Just when viewers are beginning to enjoy the evolving relationship between Yug (Shabir Ahluwalia) and Kairi (Ashi Singh), the story is set to take a dramatic turn with the entry of Rajat Dahiya as Vikram (Vicky) Malhotra — a charming yet cunning lawyer who is Yug’s arch nemesis.

Vikram is not just another character — he’s Yug’s old rival, someone whose history with him is marked by betrayal and unresolved conflicts. With his return, long-buried tensions resurface, bringing chaos not just to Yug’s life but also threatening the fragile equation between him and Kairi. Vikram may look calm and charming on the outside, but he carries a lot of old anger. Vikram plays by perception. He knows how to make truth look like a lie—and vice versa —and his entry is sure to bring unexpected twists to the story.

Known for his impactful performances across television shows, Rajat Dahiya speaks about his role, “What really drew me to Vikram was how complex and unpredictable he is. He’s not just a villain—he’s someone who knows exactly how to find people’s weak spots and use them. He can charm you, make you question yourself, and twist situations to his advantage, all while staying two steps ahead. But what makes him interesting is that he’s not doing this just to be evil—his actions come from a place of deep hurt, pride, and personal history. I’m looking forward to exploring this psychological tug-of-war between him and Yug, especially because it plays out in the middle of such an unusual love story.”
