Ravish Desai 'feels lucky' to be the only male in the all-ladies show, Satrangi Sasural

Ravish Desai
After portraying the role of the charming and the fun loving Kunal in Star Plus’ Ek Nanad Ki Khushiyon Ki Chaabi… Meri Bhabhi, Ravish Desai is all set to play the role of Vihaan, the only son to seven mothers in Zee TV’s Satrangi Sasural (24 Frames Productions). Talking about his show and character, Ravish tells Tellychakkar.com, “It feels good to be back with a different show like Satrangi Sasural. Unlike Kunal in Meri Bhabhi, Vihaan is a much more mature and a responsible guy as he is brought up and looked after by seven mothers. But at the same time he is funny and playful and has the streaks of a boy in him.” Satrangi Sasural has an ensemble cast with some of the most talented names of television like Sonali Sachdeva, Sadiya Siddiqui, Resham Tipnis, Samta Sagar, Bhavana Balsawer and Sheetal Thakkar with veteran actress and the beautiful, Farida Jalal. Speaking about the experience working in an all-ladies show, Ravish says, “It is great to be working with such seasoned actors; every day and every scene is a learning curve. Farida Jalal is an institution in herself. You get to learn so much from her as she has been there for so many years now.” Ask him about indulging in a lot of girly-talk with these ladies, and he explains, “Yes, it certainly happens. And I enjoy being the only male present in such conversations. If the topic interests me, I surely butt in and talk. But if I am not interested, I don’t sit around. Having said this, all of us never sit idle inside our rooms. We always sit and chat on the sets, and we have now become a huge family.” About the mother who is closest to his real-life mother, Ravish avers, “Sonali Sachdeva who plays my biological mother Narmada in the show is very luch like my mom. She is a strict mother with no nonsense attitude. She instills the value of discipline in him and doesn’t allow him to take things for granted. My mother too has the same thought process.” The ladies gang on the show does not stop with the seven mothers. “Well, I am honoured to be working with two more women on the sets – my producer (Bhairavi Raichura) and director (Nandita Mehra). They are extremely talented people.” Talking about the leading lady and his co-star Mugdha Chapekar, Ravish adds, “She is too good a person and I am very lucky to have her as my co-actor. We gelled well and clicked instantly. I hope audiences like our chemistry.” Satrangi Sasural is all set to hit the screens from 3 December on Zee TV. Ravish, we wish you luck!!
