DDLJ mania: SRK showers high praise on Kajol and Ajay Devgn

It was a complete SRK show right from the word 'go' at Maratha Mandir yesterday night. Dressed in his favourite black suit and maroon tie with his jet black hair slicked back, SRK oozed immense charm, grace and charisma. Not to forget his famous arm extensions that made his hordes of fans who had thronged the venue go crazy bringing traffic to a virtual standstill. Inside the theater, SRK and Kajol addressed a select group of audience and entertained them with witty quotes and behind the scene moments from DDLJ. Kajol whose leg is yet to heal arrived in crutches and allowed the verbose SRK to take centerstage which the latter did with glee. SRK started off by thanking his fans for making DDLJ a cult today. Said SRK, "We have five kids between the two of us (SRK &Kajol) but all of them are smaller than DDLJ. DDLJ is our best child." The superstar regaled the audience by singing Tujhe Dekha Toh Yeh Jaana Sanam and later by mouthing a few popular dialogues that got him a standing ovation from the already standing audience. SRK who is known for respecting and honouring women said, "Nowhere in your life should you disrespect a woman. You can love, romance and be naughty with women as long you respect them and don't misbehave with them. T hat's my excuse for flirting with every woman I meet. You can go and tell a girl how attractive she is as long as you respect her. I tell this to my kids too." Ajay Devgn too found a good mention in SRK's speech. Praising Ajay for being a good hubby to Kajol, SRK said he once aspired to be an action star like Ajay to which Kajol lightly remarked, "You can't be Action Jackson tonight." Kajol, on her part, lavished praise on Badshah Khan and said , "SRK is called the King, Badshah. I know the way he became a king. I have never seen anyone working so tirelessly. As much as fans love SRK, SRK loves you more." SRK also on a lighter note brought in his Muslim angle when Kajol said that he has married multiple women onscreen. "I have that Muslim angle to me which allows me the leeway," quipped a witty Khan. The ultimate tribute was however reserved for Kajol when SRK proclaimed that she was the central character of the film. "When I heard the story, I knew it was a modern take on everything from love, relationship and marriage. But I also knew that it revolved around only one character. The film was about Simran and will always remain about Simran. And Kajol who played Simran is purity personified. The film's purity comes from her," said SRK. SRK finished off the proceedings on a grand note by posing with a mandolin in hand and Kajol by his side. Long live DDLJ!
