Best rib-ticklers of 2014

These men and women have kept us chuckling through the days, thanks to their comic timing and amazing screen presence. As the year comes to a close, we take a look at the best rib-ticklers of 2014...

Kapil Sharma as Bittu (Comedy Nights With Kapil):

From hitting on the female guests in his goofy way to being a misery master, Bittu Sharma is a character we all love. His wit and spontaneous act has made him the star of standup comedy!

Aamir Dalvi as Kavi (Hum Ne Li Hai... Shapath):

Almost every cop show has a lovable side kick whose comic timing offers the audiences a sense of relief from all the tension. That's exactly what Kavi does too.

Ali Asgar as Dadi (Comedy Nights With Kapil):

A man playing an old woman had never been so charming as Ali Asgar is as Dadi. Her ‘forever’ drunk personality and her pappis can bring laughter to even the dead!

Bharti Singh (Comedy Classes):

Her self-deprecating humour is her trademark. Whether it’s about her plump figure or her missing tooth, the comedienne has us in splits!

Krushna Abhishek (Comedy Classes):

His ready witty, spontaneous dance movies and loud dialogue delivery makes him one of the most watched comedian on the small screen. It's no wonder that he has been a regular Bollywood feature too!

Kiku Sharda as Palak (Comedy Nights With Kapil) :

Palak, of the 'weird-yet-entertaining-dance-moves' fame has been entertaining us for a year now. We love her sidekick act with her didi Gutthi and of course, her 'sher' that make us chuckle!

Shenaz Rizwan as Toshi (Yeh Hai Mohabbatein):

The show may be a serious one, exploring the dynamics of the lead. But 'Toshi' gives the show the much-needed comic break. What a delightful way to break the monotony of the show!

Disha Vakani as Daya (Taarak Mehta):

When she first burst on the scene, her high-pitched dialogue delivery was the talk of the town. Her simpleton role was much appreciated and we especially love her 'Garba' sessions!

Dilip Joshi as Jetha (Taarak Mehta):

He is the star of the show because most of the times, the plot involves him, his wife Daya or his naughty son 'Tappu'. The way he tackles his problems is the crux of this longest running comedy show!

Sunil Grover as Gutthi (Comedy Nights With Kapil):

Who doesn't love the slightly masculine and immensely funny Gutthi, played so effectively by Sunil Grover. We love his impromptu dance steps and his unique way of saying 'juice me'!

Ashita Dhawan as Savri Pratap Paliwal (Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya):

It's quite difficult to pull off a comic role when you're part of a daily soap. But Dhawan managed to do a grand job of it as 'Savri'. Doesn't she?

Kavita Kaushik as Inspector Chandramukhi Chautala (F.I.R.):

She is a tough and rough police inspector, hell bent on tackling crimes and putting culprits behind the bars. But what adds to the masti is her flamboyance and perfect comic timing.

Shubhangi Gokhale as Mishri Mausi (Lapataganj - Ek Baar Phir) :

Her gems of advices always have the characters getting into deeper problems. But Mausi is the most adorable character on the show, thanks to her acting chops!

Rohitashv Gour as Mukundi Lal Gupta (Lapataganj - Ek Baar Phir) :

Caught between his practical self and the demands of the society, Gupta ji is always trying to make the best of the situation...but does he always succeed?

Upasana Singh as Bua (Comedy Nights With Kapil):

She is the funniest '22-year-old' in town. From her desperate measures to get married to her flirty nature, Pinky Bua is what legends are made of!
