Did police play party poopers at Farah Khan's birthday bash?

Farah Khan

The New Year's first big bash took place at Farah Khan's residence yesterday with the who's who of the film industry turning up to wish and congratulate the filmmaker on her 50th birthday. From Karan Johar to Katrina Kaif to Deepika Padukone to Ranveer Singh, celebs totted in one after another in quick succession. And as expected, the birthday girl had made great arrangements to look after her guests and we are sure delicious food, fine cocktails and a DJ playing popular hits must have kept spirits of all those present happily high. But guess who played party poopers? It's none other than the guardians of our city, the Mumbai police, as per sources.

It seems that irate residents of the society lodged a complaint with the police about the loud noise being blared from the speakers of Farah's house. Soon enough, at around 12.45 am, the cops came knocking at Farah's house and asked her tone down the volume as it was being played beyond permissible limits. Sources suggest that Farah was also apparently fined for the breach of rules though there is no confirmation regarding the same.

Says our source, "The police definitely came calling and post that the music stopped. But the party raged on till the wee hours of morning."

The plug seemed to have been pulled but the spirit didn't die down. All celebs continued partying in Farah's house till about four in the morning. The popular faces who were spotted included Deepika-Ranveer (both seemed inseparable), Abhishek-Aishwarya, Riteish-Genelia, Karan Johar, Sonu Sood, Naseeruddin Shah and son Vivaan, Vishal Bhardwaj, Anurag Kashyap, Mika Singh, Anupam Kher and many others.

Surely a party to remember we say despite the police intervention.
