Karan Singh Grover reveals his bodybuilding secrets

Karan Singh Grover in Alone

If there is one thing that unquestionably stood out in Alone, it was Karan Singh Grover's drool worthy, oh-so-perfect body. The hunk who appeared shirtless in the song sequences made quite an impression with his well cut-out shoulders, python biceps and washboard abs.

All the years of exercise put in the gym seemed to have reflected well onscreen. But guess what? It's not just gymming that Karan resorted to while training. The actor has been practicing Calisthenics, a form of exercise that consists of a variety of rhythmical movements, performed without using any equipment or apparatus.

Says Karan, "I have been training in Calisthenics. It's a form of exercise where I don't use weight at all. It's a combination of bending, jumping, swinging, twisting or kicking where only my body weight is used as resistance. This helps me build my core inner body strength."

Interestingly, Karan has not sought any professional help to learn this exercise. "I have self-learnt it using YouTube and reading other articles on the internet."

The actor has also decreased the amount of weight he pumps in gym. "I am using lighter weights since Calisthenics helps me in maintaining my inner strength which is very important."

Surprisingly, unlike other star bodybuilders, Karan doesn't really avoid anything in his diet. Ask him how he maintains his six pack while eating everything and anything, Karan says, "I work out religiously every single day. I am in place where I can work out well and eat well too. So I don't really avoid anything in my diet. Yes, if I have to bulk up while shooting for a song, I avoid carbohydrates. Or else, I pretty much eat everything."

Well, we are impressed Karan.
