The homely Pratibha, who has lost herself trying to find happiness for her family, has decided to take a stand and start a new love story- a happy story for herself!
Yes, this is the tale of Pratibha, essayed by the talented Binny Sharma, who is all set to wow us with her show Hello Pratibha by Shakuntalam Telefilms. The show launches next week on Zee TV.
Talking about her show and character, Binny shared, “This character and show has a very simplistic approach to a very important cause. i.e, respect of woman in our society. I think once a girl gets married, her life automatically starts revolving around her husband and in-laws and in no time, she loses herself. This is our step to make a woman realise her worth and find her respect in not just her family but also in the society.”
Would people be able to connect with the show? “Of course, I think it is the time when people are ready to accept new things. Viewers are really bored of fakeness on TV and would love to see a real story. Also, since most shows have the same feel and look, this show will somewhere stand out and bring out a tale that people can relate to," said the actress.
Who is an ideal woman to you? “My mother, any day. As for qualities of a perfect woman goes, I think a woman should understand that she has the right to say no. Her involvement in every little matter in her family is necessary but that doesn’t mean she should bow down to her family’s requirements all the time. She should be able to love and respect herself,” answered Binny.
With the show having a social cause, will it be a preachy one? The girl defended it by saying, “Of course not. Firstly, this show is not something that would just focus on a cause; it will also showcase the khati-meethi everyday happenings of the family. Also, we won’t have a woman being aggressive and fighting for her rights, but through her acts evoking emotions in viewers so that they won’t let anything like this happening with them.”
Since she is known as a dancer (Dance India Dance), will she miss that aspect while playing a simpleton in this show? “Not at all, for I feel that I have enjoyed that phase whole-heartedly and now it’s time to focus all energies on this show. As an actor, I think it’s a blessing to be able to get a chance to play such different characters,” she said.
And finally, when asked whether their show would be able to give competition to the popular Yeh Hai Mohabbatein that airs on the same time slot, the actress smiled and said, “I think our show rocks and would surely do really well!”
Wish you luck, Binny!
