Youth shows give complete freedom to its actors- Sharmin Kazi

Beyond Dreams Entertainment’s latest show Million Dollar Girl has brought a new wave on youth shows with a small town girl dreaming her way to become a fashionista in Paris. The show on Channel V presents the strength and passion of a young girl Avanti who knows how to make her dreams come true. And playing the lead is Sharmin Kazi, who is on cloud nine for all the love she is receiving. “The show is slowly picking pace among viewers and they are loving the fresh content that we have to offer. To be honest, usually shows on TV have the lead being the nice and simple ones but our show has a street smart ‘chalu’ girl who knows how to weave her way out of any situations.” “Also, I think our show not only has a track revolving on the lead but also the other cast who have equal importance in the show. I think this is why our show stands out. We also believe in bringing out the ‘realistic’ factors like an older woman-younger guy love relationship or a pandit’s daughter wanting to do something modern. These are every youngsters issues and that is why it struck a chord with the audience,” added the actress. Being on a youth show, the reach among the audience is restricted but Sharmin feels that it’s better than being restricted in performances. “The daily drama shows have a routine to follow, but youth shows give complete freedom to its actors to perform. Of course every actor wants to be a part of a popular daily but I think this show is giving me the best learning experience.” The show had the actor enact a kissing scene, we asked whether she was comfortable doing the same. “To be honest no but then the creative team sat with me and made me understand the importance of the track. Since the chemistry of Avanti and Virat (Vikram Singh Chauhan) is already a huge hit, the makers thought of getting something exciting for them.” And finally when we asked Sharmin whether she too believes that hatred turns to love over time, she smiled to say, “I think pyaar ki shuruat jhagde se hi hoti hai. Life is a twisted tale and you really don’t know what lies ahead and where.” That’s quite a deep thought Sharmin!
