Bollywood Movies to Watch this Valentine's Day

With mush floating in the air this season, it's time to get cosy with your loved one. But what would make the day even more memorable is a nice, romantic movie with your sweetheart. Here's our pick of the ten flicks to make your V-Day delightful...read on:

Dilwale Dulhani Le Jaayenge:

This movie doesn't require any intro, does it? It's not the longest running movie for no reason. After all, every lover worth his/her salt has longed to have a Raj and Simran-esque love story that is full of sweet drama and maha entertainment. If you're not cuddling up by the laptop, watching DDLJ, over a tub of butter popcorn, you're doing injustice to your relationship!

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai:

One of the coolest love triangles of all times, this KJo entertainer takes the age-old college romance among best buddies and presents it to us in a funny, yet heart-touching way. It has amazing songs, some tear-jerker scenes and natural acting from the lead characters. What else do you want to make your evening a perfect one?

Aashiqui 2:

It not only redefined the music scene with its soulful numbers and catchy lyrics, but also brought romance back to Bollywood. Just when most movies were become gorier and filthier, came this love story that stirred something deep within us. Every couple must watch this flick to understand what passions, especially when misplaced, can do.

2 States:

If you're a couple from different states of the country, planning to walk down the aisle, you'll be familiar with the premise of this fun movie. Despite our progress and modern outlook, we hesitate to marry her kids off to someone from a different community. You'll be able to relate to the lead characters' struggle as well enjoy some new-age romance unfold on your screens.

Ishaqzaade:

Arjun Kapoor's debut movie has him in the role of a roguish goon who falls in love with his archrival’s daughter. Set against the backdrop of Hindu-Muslim clashes, this Rome and Juliet are forbidden from setting up a home together. But the much-in-love duo decide to kill themselves in order to unite in death. You don't have to be so extreme with your life, but the movie does make you fall in love with your partner all over again.

Kaho Na Pyaar Hai:

If love can break you, it can also make you. That's exactly what happens when Ameesha Patel's character meets, falls in love and loses her lover (played by Hrithik Roshan), only to find love once again. This blockbuster movie may be too dramatic and unbelievably silly, but it teaches you an important lesson that life goes on, no matter what.

Mughal-E-Azam:

Love stories that have a tragic undertone are always the most appealing. Because they teach you all the mistakes you can avoid from making in your own lives. What if Akbar had let Anarkali and Salim unite? Would this grand love story have made it to the pages of history? May be not. But watch it anyway for some classic songs and the electrifying chemistry between Madhubala and Dilip Kumar.

Kabhi Kabhi:

Watch it for the mesmerising poetry, for the stunning songs, for two generation of lovers and their stories. Be it the Raakhi-Amitabh pairing or the Rishi-Neetu humorous banter, it makes for an epic V-Day watch. Don't miss this classic.

Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam:

Opulent sets, foot-tapping songs and Ash-Salman's sizzling romance. Do you need any other reason to watch this Sanjay Leela Bhansali magnum opus? Throw in a heart-wrenching love story and Ajay Devgn's restrained acting and you have a winner! Also, as a bonus, you have Ash looking like a million bucks in this love saga.

Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na:

The story may be the same, but the treatment of the movie is so different that you'd be smiling all through the movie. It has some really warm moments and passionate glances that will make your evening a lot more romantic. It has beautifully composed songs as well. If melodrama of the past isn't your choice, watch this gen-Y movie about love, loss and friendships.
