It seems that Star's daily afternoon soap Kumkum has quite some plans for a revamp. After the recent gen-leap injected with a dose of new faces, a veretan actor will make an entry soon. We are talking about the seasoned actor, Anang Desai, who played the lovable dadaji in Instant Khichadi on Star One. In Kumkum, he essays the character of Ashwin Vanjera, a Gujarati lawyer.
The track in Kumkum will take a turn as the Wadhwa family will engage in a bitter court case with Ashwin Vanjera (Anang). Antara, Dhruv's wife, works in the formers firm, and the hitch is that he persuades her to get certain documents from the Wadhwa house, which Ashwin intends to use against her family itself.
Says Anang, "It's a totally different track altogether. I play a gujarati lawyer and Antara works in my firm. Later, I strike a relationship with the family." He is reluctant in revealing more about the track, as people wouldn't be interested then.
But why play a gujarati character again? "The role I played in Instant Khichdi was very much different from the one in Kumkum. And coming to variety, I am a punjabi dadaji in India Calling!
With the second season of Instant Khichdi in the offing and with shows like Kumkum and India Calling on hand, telly viewers are sure going to see more of Anang.
