Neil Bhatt is a talented actor, and leaves no stones unturned when it comes to doing his home work for a sequence. Recently, Neil was seen performing magic on-screen to impress his on-screen wife, essayed by Sreejita De in Zee TV’s Tumhi Ho Bandhu Sakha Tumhi, produced by Shashi-Sumeet Productions.
However, not many are aware that Neil actually learn the art of magic for this particular sequence.
Says Neil, “It was pleasure learning from the magician, Afzal. I took nearly 20 minutes to learn the art, and I in fact surprised my entire team and co-actors with my ability to do magic. From my childhood, I have been watching magicians perform tricks. But it was really good to be on the other side, and perform them.”
So what are the tricks that Neil has well-versed in?
“Aah, I learnt to use a stick and produce a beautiful flower out of it. I know the card trick, wherein I shuffle the cards so quickly that it creates an illusion of cards dancing up in the air. I also learnt the trick of waving am empty jug and coming up with chocolates in it. I also can eat a soft ball and bring it out of my system in a jiffy. Overall, it was real fun to do something different from the monotonous drama involved in soaps,” explains the actor.
In fact, Neil made sure that his co-actors did not know what he is up to, and did not allow them to be at the place when he was learning the tricks. “Yes, it was a surprise for them as well, and they were simply amazed at how quickly I learnt it. Everyone on the set wanted to learn the tricks, but I guess only the lucky ones get to learn them (smiles).”
Ask Neil whether he can entertain kids very well now with his magic tricks and he quickly avers, “I have always been good with kids. Now that I have learnt these tricks, I think if I can get all the materials needed, I can entertain them with my magic.”
Take a bow, magician Neil!!
