MUMBAI: Every year on May 6, International No Diet Day shines a spotlight on body positivity and self-acceptance. It’s a day that encourages people to embrace their bodies as they are, without guilt, restriction, or unrealistic standards. In a world where fitness and beauty ideals often overshadow mental and emotional well-being, this day serves as a gentle reminder that health isn't one-size-fits-all. On this special day, Jagriti – Ek Nayi Subah fame Vijayendra Kumeria talks about his favourite cheat meals, clean eating and workouts and mentions how this day is a reminder to respect our bodies, fuel them well, and once in a while, let them enjoy a well-deserved break.
Vijayendra Kumeria, who essays the role of Suraj in Zee TV's Jagriti-Ek Nayi Subah said, “As an actor, my body is a part of my craft — it helps me express, transform, and connect with different characters and stories. I maintain a fairly disciplined routine when it comes to workouts and clean eating, but I also believe that enjoying what you love is equally important. On International No Diet Day, I plan to treat myself to a hearty plate of butter chicken with naan — it’s one of my absolute favourites, and it brings back great memories of family dinners. Days like this remind us to celebrate food, not fear it. For me, body positivity isn’t about rejecting health or discipline — it’s about embracing the uniqueness of our bodies and treating them with care, not control. In a profession where transformation is constant, staying grounded in self-acceptance is vital. This day is a reminder to respect our bodies, fuel them well, and once in a while, let them enjoy a well-deserved break.”
