I was in depression for three years; but now I have changed and for good - Krishna Gokani

Krishna Gokani

She bared the brunt of being popular at a very tender and innocent age!! She was ousted from both the shows where she was the ‘face’, without prior notice!! She was framed to be the most unprofessional actor, and was also touted to be into a love affair with a production guy, a complete family man!!

Well, we are talking about the talented and good-looking Krishna Gokani, who is even today remembered as the darling ‘Bhakti’ in Hamari Devrani, and the intelligent con girl in Looteri Dulhan

Well, it’s hard to believe that we have not seen the girl in action for nearly three years now!! But this is a fact…

But now, Krishna Gokani is rearing to move on, come back with a bang, and prove her critics wrong with her new and changed outlook to life…

She’s done it all, to get back to shape

Yes, if you look at me now, you will understand the level of work that has gone into this changed look!! I have lost nearly 15 kgs of weight; I have worked it off like an ass in the gym. I have given myself a decently good diet regime, and have followed it day after day. I have learnt the nuances of yoga and meditation, and this has helped me a lot. The result of all this is that I am a much more calm person, very understanding, more mixing, good in making people comfortable, more professional and more of the giving in types now. All this has not been easy at all, but I am glad that I have gotten till here.. Earlier, I was too young, to even understand anything. Now, I am a far better person, both mentally and physically.

Points to prove

Well, I was way too innocent, na?ve and nice when I began my career. Now, I want to show people that I have honestly changed, that too for the good. The amazing part was that I was so nice, as all came from the very protective background I had. I never used to notice that my mischievous, innocent attitude was taken to be something else. I never realized that one needs to think before doing anything and reacting in an industry like this. It’s now time to move on…

The tough times….

Nobody will believe that I was in depression for good three years. I could not even step out of my room. Yes, everybody has bad days, and do get over it with time. Now, I am back to write on a new slate. I will say, some people manage to get fame first, then go on to spoil their name. I managed to spoil my name first, and now will get up and hit back. I am glad that I belong to the second category, and I am happy that I am up again to show my face to people.

Being part of controversies…

I nearly got paralyzed during the shoot of Hamari Devrani, but people have gone on to call me as an unprofessional actor. Though I don’t want to talk about it now, I was dragged into a love affair gossip, and that shook me really hard. Only I know how badly it affected me.

Thanks-giving to her family

I must say that, I have been very lucky to get a family like what I have. They have been extremely supportive, as they always knew what I was going through, and how all the rumours affected me. They have been the only reason for me to gain my strength back again.. I am a stronger woman today, and they have made me feel strong.

Her roles of the past

Looteri Dulhann was an out-of-the-box role, but unfortunately it did not last long. I have earlier played the subtle and soft Bhakti which needed a lot of underplaying. Now, I am doing a comedy show with Ketki Dave for ETV Gujarati, titled 1760 Sasumaa. This is the first time I have tried out comedy, and I love it.

Roles of preference now…

I will now want to do roles that will show me as an actor. I have started giving auditions, and have started to market myself again. I believe that I have done roles that were very basic in nature, and will want more of the challenging stuff now. I am not sure if I want to do a completely negative role. I will not mind putting my hands in getting grey, but still maintain that thread of positivity in the character. I am glad to know that the TV industry has changed. There are a lot of new things happening now, and I am looking for better things in future.

Thought about picking up a reality show..

Well, I have had all the taste of controversy in my life so far. So I will prefer to stay away from controversies (smiles).

Path to the future

An actor should always be considered as a human, is what I believe. An actor cannot be made to work endlessly like a dog. Compassion is very important in the industry, and our industry will be a great place to work with, if we have abundance of that. I believe that give and take between a director-actor, and producer-actor is very important, as that can keep the ride smooth.

Most importantly, Krishna is all set for a comeback, and is back with a killer look!! Take a look at the picture to believe…

We have to say, all the very best, Krishna….
