There are fans, then there are loyal fans, and then there is KRISH. A self-confessed fan of Aamir Khan, he considers the Bollywood actor his God. He even runs a Facebook page known as “GoKrish" where every week he tries to do something creative to reach out to Aamir Khan and also tries to get as many likes and comments so he could learn film-making from his favourite actor. We got in touch with the fan boy to know more about his obsession, he is definitely much more than just a Fan…read on:
How big an Aamir Khan fan are you?
I might not be his biggest fan, but certainly am one of the truest ones.
When did you start admiring him?
I started liking him after watching Lagaan. But I started admiring him after watching Dil Chahta Hai. And I got attached to him post Taare Zameen Par as it was a reflection of my own life. Even I was dyslexic and was in a boarding school for five years. The only difference between me and the movie is that an Aamir Khan-esque figure didn’t come to my rescue.
What do you like the most about him?
Well, I can go on and on about this. I like everything about him. But to be precise, I like his dedication towards each and every film he makes. He gives his hundred percent and that is why all of his films are huge hits. I am glad I follow a man who gives us such beautiful movies to watch.
Do you think he is the best Khan of the Bollywood?
Hahaha, Seriously? You are asking an Aamir Khan fan that question?
Have you met him?
Yes, I have met him once. I used to work for with Omar Qureshi while interning with Zoom TV. I worked really hard out there and Omar sir knew about my love for Aamir Khan. So, Omar sir asked me to come to Bandra and told me how Aamir Khan wanted to meet me. I couldn’t believe it. When I met Aamir sir in person, I started crying. I didn’t speak a word in front of him. He was trying to make small talk, but I couldn’t speak. I wanted to tell Aamir sir that I wanted to learn filmmaking from him, but I didn’t say it, as I knew that I wasn’t worthy enough. I was just a fan at that time. So, I started working in the industry just so that I could make myself worthy of being trained by him.
You run an interesting Facebook page called GoKrish…tell us something about it?
Well, the page is about my struggle to reach out to Aamir sir. Basically, every week I go to Aamir Khan Production’s office and give them my resume. But nothing comes out of it. Yes, I go there every week. I have been to his office more than fifteen times, with no effect. So I started this page on Facebook called GoKrish. Every time I get rejected from his office, I upload a video. I even started distributing cards of GoKrish to people outside the studio and colleges, hoping someone might actually know him and could tell him about this. Nothing’s happened. But I haven’t given up. For now, I have also made a short film that I have made for Aamir sir. I really hope that he sees it and finds me worthy of being his student.
What’s your ultimate goal with the entire campaign?
To learn film-making from Aamir Khan and his Team.
