MUMBAI: Sony SAB’s Pushpa Impossible continues to resonate with audiences across generations through its heartfelt and relatable storytelling. The show now welcomes acclaimed actor Gaurav Chopra as Professor Rajvir Shastri, a sharp, cynical law professor known for his commanding courtroom presence and fierce advocacy. As Pushpa’s (Karuna Pandey) journey takes an unexpected turn, her encounter with Professor Shastri sparks a powerful journey of self-discovery, highlighting how a woman can reignite her dreams and pursue a meaningful career, no matter her age. It’s a gripping narrative of emotional reckoning and an unexpected transformation.
1. Pushpa is a strong example of pursuing one’s dreams regardless of age. What message does this current storyline send to viewers who may feel that it's too late to follow their own passions or career aspirations?
The idea that “there’s no age to pursue your dreams” may sound philosophical, but Pushpa Impossible shows how it can be lived in a real, meaningful way. While certain professions may have age restrictions - passion, learning, and personal growth don’t. Pushpa’s journey—from going back to school to now entering law college—shows that with determination and the right support, it’s never too late to grow. You may not always reach a specific title or position, but the pursuit of knowledge, purpose, and self-belief has no age. That’s the message we hope to share: it’s never too late to learn, to dream, and to shape a new path for yourself.
2. Do you personally relate to the idea of finding purpose or reinventing yourself at any stage in life?
Yes, absolutely. I truly relate to the idea of finding purpose or starting fresh at any stage in life. We all carry a spark within us — a desire to do something meaningful. As long as we’re alive and aware, we keep learning, growing, and changing. Even small changes matter. That’s what makes life exciting — the chance to keep reinventing ourselves. To me, that’s the real essence of living.
3. To convincingly play a law student, especially someone returning to education later in life, did you take any special steps or do personal research to prepare?
As an actor, it’s my responsibility to prepare thoroughly for the roles I take on, and playing a law student, especially someone returning to education later in life, requires that level of commitment. I will be researching and understanding the basics of the legal world. Once we dive deeper into that track, I’ll be reading up on the subject and learning whatever is needed to portray it convincingly. I also believe that every citizen should have some awareness of the law—it's important not just for personal empowerment, but also for contributing to a more informed society. Through this storyline, if we can inspire people to become more legally aware, that would be a meaningful achievement.
4. Gaurav Chopra brings a commanding presence to any role. What was your reaction when you learned he’d be joining the show as Pushpa’s mentor?
Absolutely! The moment we heard Gaurav ji was finalized, we were all genuinely excited. He has a strong presence — his voice, his expressions, the way he delivers lines — it all adds great depth to a scene. As an actor, it’s a joy to work with someone so talented and experienced. Our chemistry clicked right away, and I enjoyed shooting with him. I'm looking forward to more scenes together and exploring the journey of Pushpa and Professor Rajvir. He's not just a brilliant actor, but also a warm, kind-hearted person off-screen.
5. In your personal life, has there been a mentor or teacher who pushed you out of your comfort zone and left a lasting impact, similar to what Pushpa is experiencing now?
Many people have shaped me in different ways. My father’s selflessness, my mother’s spiritual strength, my grandparents, sister, friends, husband—even my pets—have all taught me something meaningful. On set, too, working with someone like Anshul Trivedi has been a learning experience. I believe growth comes from taking in lessons from everyone around us. It’s an ongoing process of learning, unlearning, and evolving—just like Pushpa’s journey.
6. Pushpa’s story is an empowering one for women of all ages. What message would you like to share with viewers who see a part of themselves in her journey?
Pushpa’s journey has touched many lives, and I’m deeply moved by the stories people share. Just recently, while feeding stray dogs, a neighbor told me how much she relates to Pushpa — her struggles, her strength — and how the show inspired real change in her life. Moments like that remind me of the power of storytelling. To anyone who sees themselves in Pushpa, I’d say: keep going. No matter your age or situation, you can still grow, learn, and evolve. Embrace change with grace, stay grounded, and lead with love — because that’s what gives life true meaning.
