Hemant Chaddha is the small screen’s Singh is King

Actor Hemant Chaddha who was recently in the news for rescuing the CID team after Bollywood actor Neil Nitin Mukesh snubbed the show, is all set to essay the role of a sardar in actor turned producer Rahul Bhat’s show on DD titled Tum dena saath mera. Chaddha’s look is similar to that of Akshay Kumar’s in Singh is King and his dialect too will remind viewers of Akki. Apart from Hemant, the cast includes veterans Rajiv Verma, Gajendra Chauhan and rookie actors Piku and Amit. The story is a love triangle. Rahul had earlier produced hit show Meri doli tere anagana. According to a source, “This is a love triangle and Hemant will have gray shades to his character. His father has been murdered and he blames Gajendra Chauhan for the same. In an attempt to avenge Chauhan, he tries to lure his daughter Piku into a relationship. Actor Rajiv Verma is playing Amit’s father.” When contacted, Producer Rahul Bhat, said, “This is the first time a daily soap has got primetime slot on DD. The curtain raiser of the show is slated for 9 November at 9:30 pm and the show will begin on 23 November. This is a love story between a blind girl and a mute boy. Piku Sharma is playing the protagonist and model turned actor Amit is playing the male lead in the show. Supriya Kumari of Bairi Piya fame is playing Piku’s sister on the show. The show is set against the backdrop of Punjab and so we will have Sikh families. Gajendra Chauhan for the first time will play the role of a Sikh father to four dughters including Piku and Supriya. This is going to be the driver show of the channel.” Hemant Chaddha confirmed the news and said, “Yes, I am doing Rahul Bhat’s Tum dena saath mera and for the first time something like this has been attempted on Doordarshan. I am really excited about my role which is quite similar to that of Akshay Kumar’s in Singh is King.”
