Shashi-Sumeet Mittal’s show Diya Aur Baati Hum has managed to strike the right chords with the masses. The beautiful love story has its setting in the picturesque Rajasthan. The show is aesthetically shot and has a script which is quite appealing and poignant. Furthermore, the latest news is that Gulfam Khan, who was last seen essaying a comic character in Sahara One’s Hi! Padosi..Kaun hai Doshi?, is all set to play a negative character in the show. A source told us that the actress will be seen as Meenakshi’s (Kanica Maheshwari) mother. Her character is yet to be named hence she will be called maa and samdhan in the show for the time being. “Yes, I am making an entry. My character is a vicious one,” confirmed Gulfam to Tellychakkar. In the show, Meenakshi has been hit by her husband. Gulfam will show concern for her daughter initially but as the plot will progress her true colours will be revealed. Furthermore, Meenakshi has always behaved the way her mother has wanted her to. In fact, now it will be clearer to the audience that Meenakshi is not the actual vamp but it is her mother. The source further revealed to us that the actress has started shooting for the show last week and her entry will be shown in tonight’s episode.
