Paulo Coelho said- “Writing means sharing; it’s part of the human condition to want to share things - thoughts, ideas, and opinions.”
But not everyone can share and write, but the emotion related to words is a natural flair in all.
And to polish the skills and writing abilities, we connected with popular and talented Sharad Chandra Tripathi to share with our readers, few tips on how to better one’s penmanship.
Over to you mate....
“Writing for me has been a drug and I have no qualms in accepting that I am an addict. Though, when it comes to be a writer, I am still a struggler trying to pen my thoughts into words, sentences and scenes. Writing is not a cooking course or a process of beautification where one can become a super writer just following tips. But yes, I have few suggestions which I followed till date, and that can help you guys too,” shared Sharad.
- One needs to be a great observer if they want to be a good writer. Everything, living or dead, has a story and one just needs to extract the same. Human beings interestingly evoke all their emotions through their body language. Keep a keen eye on how people behave with each other or with themselves and you will get to know a lot about them.
- God created us, and we created language, and then formed the most beautiful thing- literature. You have to read a lot; it is the only homework you can do for your writing. Reading inspires our brain in a certain way to write. Yes, it all comes with practice, but you need to build a habit to get an upper hand with your language and writing skills.
- Writing today is very real and subtle. Even if you are working on fiction, try to be relatable. Over dramatisation kills the essence and soul of the stories. Stick to your grounds and leave the dramatic sequence only for fantasies.
- Story telling is all about characterisation and emotions; they are the basic requirements. You have to have some endearing or intriguing qualities in your protagonists. We connect with people through the emotional cord and if as a writer we can create that bonding, it’s like hitting the bull’s eye in the first go.
- Pen your thoughts daily; know your strength, style and want of writing. Every writer has his own approach, so build that rather than following someone else. You are your biggest competitor, so create something better everyday.
- And finally, writing is not something which can be taught in class room or colleges; it is an inherent quality. Writing is an art and passion that you are born with. So be sure what you want in life and from a writing career. Write only if you love the job, your emotions towards writing will be able to add life to your words.
Wow!!! Aren’t you guys inspired from this young writer? So do follow the same and improve your scribing talent!
