Laksh Lalwani came to Mumbai with big dreams in his eyes, just like millions of others. While those people are still looking for a footing, this handsome hunk has achieved his dreams and is living it up on the small screen!
After a successful stint on MTV Warrior High, he is currently the lead face of &TV’s Adhuri Kahani Hamari, a role that hundreds of guys would kill for, but he is grounded as ever.
In a laidback chat with Tellychakkar.com, he talks about his journey as an actor, current show and about his future aspirations…take a look:
How many auditions did you give before bagging your first show?
I did not audition for the show. Warrior High just happened to me very suddenly.
Tell us about your beginning as an actor…
My friend was giving audition for Roadies X1 so he insisted on me joining too. My mom wanted to see me on TV as well, so went ahead. I reached late at the audition and there were already 5000 people standing in line. When I was giving up on the show, a guy from the production team came up to me to inform that I had been called inside. I was surprised! I went inside and met Vikas Gupta. I didn’t know then that he was a famous producer. Next day, I got a call for an interview with him and he offered me a daily soap. After knowing about the show and character, I gave an online audition and got selected.
Tell us about your first day in front of the camera…
It was a normal thing for me. I knew it was just a camera, so it won’t harm me at all. I was not nervous or scared the first time when I faced the camera.
Did you always dream of becoming an actor or were there other aspirations too?
Well, I never wanted to be an actor. My plans were to join the Indian Army. But after coming to this industry, I started enjoying acting and that’s the reason I am still a part of it.
How do you feel about bagging Adhuri Kahani Hamari?
The script really impressed me. I am playing two powerful characters and the concept of reincarnation is unique on Indian television, so I couldn’t say no to this show.
Tell us something about Laksh, the person?
I am an unpredictable person. I am very reserved. I speak less but when I open my mouth, I make sure that I am speaking sense.
What are your likes and dislikes?
I like whatever I do and I dislike people not valuing their time.
You are young, so why did you select this matured role?
I am just 19 (though people don’t believe it!). Even though playing two powerful characters at this young age is definitely very challenging, I love to test myself.
What are the preparations that you had to go through to get into the skin of the character?
I am portraying two characters Krish and Madhav. Krish is polite and sweet, but Madhav needs a heavy voice and a fast dialogue delivery. He needs to look fit too. I have started doing yoga and some changes in my body language and way of talking.
What kind of a role do you aspire to play in the future?
John Abraham’s Manya Surve from Shootout at Wadala.
Any Bollywood dreams?
I would just say that I am living my dream already!
Are you open to reality shows? Which are the shows that impress you?
No, I think reality shows are completely fake.
Have you set any goals for yourself?
I don’t plan life much. For now, I just want this show to be liked by all.
Finally, any message you want to share with your fans?
I would like to thank all my fans for accepting and loving me so much. My fans are my strength, so continue showering your love on me. I need all your blessings and good wishes. And yes, please watch the show and send me your feedback.
All the best, Laksh!
