Its time to usher in a new mythological drama in television.
Yes readers, Aakash Aath is launching a new serial titled Jagat Janani Maa Sarada, the first ever Bengali soap focusing on the life of Maa Sarada.
“Till date there has not been a serial on the life of the Holy Mother, Maa Sarada. We, thus decided to bring to the world various unknown stories and facets of her life. Our initiative is to spread her immortal message to everyone,” Eshita Surana, Director, Aakash Aath, said about the project at the press conference held in the compound of heritage Dakshineswar Temple near the rooms of Thakur Ramakrishna and Sri Ma.
She continued, “We would discover Sri Ramakrishna through Maa Sarada’s life. We believe this show will touch the hearts of our viewers.”
Susanta Bose, who is directing the mega says that it is a tough subject and they are researching a lot on her life by reading several books.
Speaking about the preparation he is taking to helm the project, the director quipped, “Though I am studying the subject on my own, I am depending on Sanjib Chattopadhyay’s guidance to this end. I would rather not impose my ideas, as I know my limitations. I would rely and depend on the person who has researched and worked on the subject.”
When asked both Sri Ramakrishna and Maa Sarada are icons so is he worried about the criticism, he stated, “I always believe that I should be true and honest to myself. Every human being commits mistakes, but those mistakes are mostly unintentional. I would not commit any mistake for bettering the TRP or for a gimmick. I would like to do my job honestly and thereby spread the message of Ma to the audience.”
“I do not except that everyone would be praising my work. Praise and criticisms are integral part of life. I would rather like to build upon my weaknesses upon receiving criticism from my audience,” he added with a smile.
Well known TV actress Arpita Mondal will be essaying the role of Maa Sarada while Suman Kundu will enact the role of Sri Ramakrishna. The other actors to be seen in pivotal roles include Anuradha Roy, Debasish Roy Chowdhury, Debasish Sen, Bodhisatwa Majumder, Debasish Sarkar, Subhojit Bakshi and Arpita Samanata.
The serial will start from 19th February airing every Monday to Saturday at 6.30 pm.
