MUMBAI: Puru Chibber, known for his versatile performances, plays the role of Tejas Deshmukh in Rahul Tewary and Rolling Tales Production's Udne Ki Aasha on Star Plus. Reflecting on his journey, Puru shared that his career began in 2010 with his debut show, Khotey Sikkey, produced by Yash Raj Films. Since then, the television industry has undergone significant changes.

“While TV has retained its core essence, the working conditions have improved dramatically. Actors now work for a maximum of 12 hours, unlike the extended shifts I heard about earlier. Planning has also become more organized, streamlining the entire process,” he remarked.

Speaking about his current role, Puru revealed how distinct it is from his previous characters. “Tejas is a funny and light-hearted person, completely opposite to who I am. This role has allowed me to explore a different facet of my acting, and I’m thrilled to receive so much appreciation for my performance. It’s truly gratifying,” he said.

For Puru, the key to creating impactful characters lies in their uniqueness. “A character’s look and how they’re portrayed on-screen are crucial for storytelling. Every character should stand out, not just in appearance but also in the delivery of their dialogues and emotions,” he explained.

Addressing the dynamics of television audiences, Puru emphasized their loyalty. “TV audiences have always been sharp and observant. While OTT platforms and social media have attracted new viewers, the core TV audience remains devoted to the medium,” he said.

Puru also highlighted the advantages of working in daily soaps. “They keep you constantly improving your craft, ensure you’re busy, and offer a steady paycheck. It’s a rewarding experience that I deeply value,” he concluded.

Udne Ki Aasha continues to captivate viewers, with Puru Chibber’s Tejas adding charm and depth to the show.
