There’s a chilling fresh twist to the three-year-old alleged suicide case of Bollywood actress Jiah Khan, if a new forensic findings by British experts are to go by. According to Jason Payne-James's findings, the Nishabd actress' hanging was staged. He further added that the marks on her face and neck rule out the incident to be a case of suicide, a leading daily reported. The latest results are said to be in complete contradiction to reports by Indian authorities, who ruled the case as suicide, the daily stated.

Jiah, an aspiring starlet was dating Sooraj Pancholi, when she was found hanging on June 3, 2013. Her mother Rabia filed a petition for a thorough probe in the High Court, reportedly mentioning that her daughter could not have committed suicide.

The case was then transferred to CBI, who ruled out murder last month, the daily said. The daily further added that Rabia approached the British experts because she was apparently dissatisfied with the results.

Refuting rumours that state that a paid third-party finding might not be permissible in court, Rabia’s counsel told the site, “We will approach the court to take these findings into consideration.”

Reacting to this, Sooraj’s father and Bollywood actor Aditya Pancholi also commented to the site, "This report is from a private forensic lab and it's paid. We will see if a court admits it or not. The investigations have been done by different agencies and all of them have come to the same conclusion [that it was a suicide].”

The daily stated in conclusion that according to Indian authorities, Teeth marks caused on lower lip during "commission of the act [suicide]", while British experts noted that ‘not typical teeth marks. Indicative of ‘blunt force trauma to the mouth region (for example punching or a hand placed over the mouth)".

Furthermore, the latter added that ‘Dupatta could not have created well-defined abraded ligature marks’, but Indian officials maintained that the marks are consistent with slippage caused by ligature material.”
