It’s official.

Sony Entertainment Television’s Ek Duje Ke Vaaste is shutting shop on 7 October (2016), much to the disappointment of its fans and watchers.

Speculations are rife on probable reasons for its early closure, however, we have learnt that female lead Nikita Dutta (Suman) could be the major cause for curtains being drawn on the serial.

Why?

Here’s more info:

A credible industry source shared with us that Nikita bagged a new project (probably a TV show or a movie down South) and thus cut the cords from Ek Duje and decided to move on.

Her ill health and resultant hospitalisation added to overall shooting woes, disrupting normal production schedule and eventually leading to closure.

When we buzzed Nikita and told her about the info we received, she stated: “ (laughs) I really hope I get another project soon. But as of now I have not taken up anything. I am taking a tiny break before taking up something new as I need some recovery time. Still not fit and fine.”

She continued: “Regarding the replacement bit, I was unwell, hence told my producer that would not be able to resume shoot till I recover completely. I was open and okay to any decision being taken by them as I did not want the show to get affected. However, replacement option didn't work out and now unfortunately Ek Duje is going off air.”

Producer Dilip Jha (Bindu Moving Images)  remained clueless about Nikita bagging a new project.

Whatever be it, fans will miss the show dearly.
