Actress Sadiya Siddiqui, who was last seen in Satrangi Sasural, will soon be back on TV with yet another mighty role!!
And the powerful and challenging role will be in Star Plus and Shashi Sumeet Mittal’s upcoming show Diya Aur Baati Hum 2, which will be the sequel of the cult show which ruled prime time for many a years!!
As we know, Anas Rashid and Deepika Singh, the protagonists of the original series will not be part of the sequel.
Actors Avinesh Rekhi, Mayank Arora, Kabeer K, Rhea Sharma will be part of DABH 2. From the earlier cast, Neelu Waghela (Bhabho), Ashok Lokhande (Babasa) and Meenakshi (Kanika Maheshwari) have been retained.
If sources are to be believed, Sadiya is being locked to play the ‘bua’ (aunt) of Avinesh Rekhi. She will be a strong, authoritative woman who would have an affectionate side too.
When contacted, Sadiya told us, “Talks are on, but there is nothing to talk about.”
We dropped a text message to Producer Sumeet Mittal and also to the channel spokesperson, but did not get revert.
Sadiya as we know, has a vast body of work in television and was lately seen in shows Rang Rasiya and Satrangi Sasural.
