Iqbal & Additi to play siblings in their next

Rakshabandhan is around the corner and it seems the Rakhi fever is also gripping the telly town.

Iqbal Khan, who was last seen in the intense romantic drama  Ek tha Raja ek thi Rani,  would soon be playing an elder brother on screen. For the role of his younger sister, Iqbal’s co-actor from his past show Sangini, Additi Gupta, has been roped in. The duo had a crackling chemistry as a romantic couple in the show, however now they would be seen playing siblings.

Iqbal and Additi both are working for a short film for Shitty Ideas trending (SIT) on a digital platform. Chhavi Mittal’s SIT has been trending on the social media for its unique ideas and the recent Game of Thrones spoof. Talking about the cast, Chhavi’s husband Mohit, who is also the co-producer for the film, said, “I wanted someone who looked like the role and Iqbal was just apt for it. As far as Additi is concerened, we have already worked together before and it’s always a pleasure to have her onboard.”

Iqbal who is making his digital debut with the film said, “There’s a certain kind of formula that you follow on TV but over here there’s so much liberty. When I and Mohit look at each other we know that this is what we always wanted to do. I wouldn’t mind doing digital again if it gives me a kick.”

Additi seems to be pretty pepped up about her role, talking about it she excitedly reveals, “I’ve actually learnt a lot about acting the last time I worked them. You can go all out on digital, while on TV you just have to give four expressions and that’s it.”

The film is slated to release on 4th of August around the Rakshabandhan week.
