Naman Shaw chooses Hussain Kuwajerwala over Ronit Roy and Ram Kapoor

Naman Shaw
Naman Shaw is one busy actor. Currently, he is enjoying his stint as Jay in Endemol India and Fortune Productions’ Beend Banoongaa Ghodi Chadhunga. However, he has one regret about his progress on television over the years. Naman gained popularity via Balaji Telefilms’ shows namely Kasamh Se, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kasturi, Kasautii Zindagi Kay, among others. But it’s been quite sometime now since he has worked with the production house. “I was part of a Balaji show called Kaun Jeetega Bollywood Ka Ticket for 9X channel. The show was shot and I won it. The winner was supposed to get an opportunity to act in a Bollywood movie. But sadly, after the show, Balaji never contacted me,” sighs Naman. That, however, is in the past. Currently, Naman has replaced Anuj Thakur as Jay in Beend Banoongaa…Reportedly, Anuj was shown the door by the production house for throwing tantrums on the sets. To mark Naman’s entry, the creatives brought in a Singapore sequence. As per the storyline, Anuj was supposed to have been packed off to the south east Asian Garden City for a month. Naman stepped in Anuj's place as Jay following that. “Replacement is always risky. However, Naman as Jay and Anuj as Jay are entirely different. In the show, I am more responsible,” smiles Naman. The actor has been a part of many saas-bahu dramas earlier, but currently he is thoroughly enjoying his role in Beend Banoongaa…“The story revolves around a Marwari family, so I speak only in a Marwari accent. It is fun,” says Naman. Furthermore, Naman is also fond of reality shows as he believes that the genre provides an actor with a greater opportunity to perform. “I would love to participate in Khatron Ke Khiladi. I am very fond of adventure,” says the actor. Well, Naman’s fans would love to see him in a reality show. But when it comes to acting, he draws inspiration from Hussain Kuwajerwala over Ronit Roy or Ram Kapoor “I have been in the industry for more than five years now. Ronit Roy and Ram Kapoor are brilliant actors, but I like the growth of Hussain as an actor. And with him playing the lead in the musical Zangoora - The Gypsy Prince , he has added another feather to his cap,” says Naman. It is a dream of almost every TV actor to make it big in the world of 70mm. But Naman doesn’t really want to enter films as of now. However, he is all praise for his one time co-star Prachi Desai (in Kasamh Se) for making a mark in Bollywood. “I am happy for her,” ends Naman.
