Aruna Irani

Mumbai: Without an iota of doubt, she is one of the refined actresses. Varied generations have seen her work. Her acting finesse and charm have not just enamoured the elders but the Gen Y as well. Probably, that is the reason Aruna Irani, 71, is still a prominent name in the entertainment industry. Since 1961, she is howbeit doing a commendable work in 2018 as well.

Post a hiatus of two years, the veteran actress made her comeback on television with Sony TV's Porus. And now, she has signed another historical saga. Anirudh Pathak’s upcoming magnum opus

Mughal –E – Azam will see the Beta fame actress in a pivotal role. As per a reliable source, Irani will play a character named Hamida Banu Begum aka Maryam Makani. The historical personality was the wife of Mughal Emperor Humayun and mother of Akbar. Consequently, the actress will be grandmother of Shaheer Sheikh, who plays Salim in the show.

Anirudh, who is known for his vision in the industry, found the talented thespian perfect for the character. The head honcho of Writers Galaxy has been applauded for his accurate interpretation of history courtesy his previous work with Prithvi Vallabh and Chandra Shekhar Azad. Consequently, the team is keen on getting on board actors who can do justice to the non-fiction characters in their upcoming daily on Colors.
