Mughal –E – Azam will see the Beta fame actress in a pivotal role. As per a reliable source, Irani will play a character named Hamida Banu Begum aka Maryam Makani. The historical personality was the wife of Mughal Emperor Humayun and mother of Akbar. Consequently, the actress will be grandmother of Shaheer Sheikh, who plays Salim in the show.
Anirudh, who is known for his vision in the industry, found the talented thespian perfect for the character. The head honcho of Writers Galaxy has been applauded for his accurate interpretation of history courtesy his previous work with Prithvi Vallabh and Chandra Shekhar Azad. Consequently, the team is keen on getting on board actors who can do justice to the non-fiction characters in their upcoming daily on Colors.

The thespian, who along with her skills is a sweet human being, confirmed the news with us. About her character, she shared, “It is a very dignified role. She is someone whom everyone obeys including Akbar. She is dominating yet very emotional.”
TellyChakkar had earlier reported that Alyy Khan and Nawab Shah are in the final race to bag the role of the iconic Akbar. A little birdie also informed that the former’s chances are high in winning the coveted role.
