Preetisheel Singh looks forward to AndhaDhun, RAW and Thackeray
This year has been a great one for National Award-winning make-up, hair and prosthetic designer Preetisheel Singh. Starting out with the blockbuster success of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmaavat, where she created the looks for Shahid Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh as the wicked Alauddin Khilji, she also designed the endearing looks of Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor for Umesh Shukla's runaway hit 102 Not Out.
Last month, the makeover wiz had her hattrick clincher with Anubhav Sinha's Mulk; a gripping take on Muslim patriotism in a Hindu-majority India. The film not only made an indelible mark at the box-office, but managed to effectively send out a fabulous message of equality and brotherhood.
The lady is excited about the Ayushmann Khurrana-starrer AndhaDhun next. "I've got a chance to work with Sriram Raghavan for the first time. It's a cool flick and I'm proud to be the makeup designer for it," says Preetisheel, who has also just finished her work for Romeo Akbar Walter (RAW) with John Abraham donning multiple looks. But she quips that RAW is going to be a "surprise package" so she can't reveal about the looks as of now.
And finally there is Thackeray, where Nawazuddin Siddiqui plays the role of Shiv Sena supremo Balasaheb Thackeray. "The praise received by Thackeray's teaser was humongous. I'm grateful to the makers who have entrusted me with this responsibility. Am a bit anxious too and have my fingers crossed," she adds.
At the pace Preetisheel delivers one memorable character look after another, it's obvious there's no looking back for her.

Ridhhi, who was touched by Kajol’s affection and support behind the camera, throws light on the funny instances that took place throughout the schedule. He says, “Kajol ma’am and I developed a strong bond in a very short span of time. She knew I had recently won an award for my work. One day she once addressed me as ‘National Award Winner’ instead of calling my name and in no time, it spread across the entire crew and eventually everybody just copied it. Till date, I am called ‘National Award Winner’ by all of them and this shall stick with me more than forever.”
Helicopter Eela also stars Neha Dhupia in a pivotal role and is all set to shine brightly for its endearing narrative this October. With such funny elements rolling in, we surely can’t wait to watch the film in theatres soon.

Education, financial freedom important for women: Shabana Azmi
Veteran actress-activist Shabana Azmi, who runs NGO Mijwan Welfare Society, says women must be educated and have financial freedom.
"Education and financial freedom are very important for women. It is necessary that parents and the life partner should respect a woman and take participation with her in every work. For women empowerment, it is also important that women come out from home and feel this world," Shabana said at 'Asmita-Woman' here on Sunday.
It was a programme hosted by the Foundation for Management Research and Training (FMRT) to recognise the power of women and also to bring together some women who have made the change happen in society just by thinking different and being independent.
Mijwan is Shabana's native village, and the NGO aims at promoting employment, self-reliance and sustainable development.
"It is one of the examples of women empowerment. This village was famous for child marriage. I initiated (my NGO) and now this practice has been stopped there," the actress said.
At 'Asmita-Woman', Shabana was the chief guest along with dance exponent Shovana Narayan.
Narayan said the mantra to empowerment lies in being honest towards your thoughts and actions.

Kajol turns into a tease on the sets of Helicopter Eela
Kajol has been the talk of the town for her relatable mommy-avatar in the upcoming film, Helicopter Eela. Directed by Pradeep Sarkar, the film beautifully sketches the journey of a single mother, quite overprotective about her teenage son, played by the National Award-Winner, Riddhi Sen.
Owning her absolutely witty self on and off screen, Kajol turned into a complete tease on the sets of Helicopter Eela, and guess who became the scapegoat? It was none other than her reel son, Riddhi who was tagged as ‘National Award Winner’ during the entire shoot of the film.
Ajay Devgn and Jayantilal Gada (Pen) presents, co-produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak, Vikrant Sharma, Reshmaa Kadakia, Kushal Kantilal Gada, Neeraj Gala and produced by Ajay Devgn, Dhaval Jayantilal Gada, Aksshay Jayantilal Gada, Helicopter Eela is all set to release on 12 October 2018.
