There are a plethora of celebrities fighting for social causes and one of them is actress Jaya Bhattacharya. The actress has always stood for what she believes in and never refrains from calling a spade a spade. While we all know her fondness for animals and how she strives for their safety, Jaya has now associated herself for a cause taken up by RAWW, which has recently written to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, chairperson of National Board for Wildlife demanding probe into T-1's unlawful shootout. As an organization striving hard to mitigate human-wildlife conflict in Mumbai and Thane city, Resqink Association for Wildlife Welfare (RAWW) is appalled by the sheer incompetence of the state government machinery in handling Tigress T-1(Avni's) case at Yavatmal, Maharashtra. T-1 also known as #Avni has been trending on all social networking sites and media for many weeks. There were and there are many questions, opinions, suggestions and recommendations coming from all concerned people with due respect to their domain knowledge, emotions and intentions. The stories we hear and the ground reality was and can never be the same in both positive and negative aspects. RAWWW initiated that they are trying to do their bit and contribute whenever it was possible as we are not tiger experts and in fact had offered help to the ministry wherever required as we believe that if a hunter could be appointed due to lack of expertise in the state then this could be a learning opportunity for existing teams plus a helping hand and assistance to the main expert teams. When TellyChakkar asked Jaya about the same, she shared, “Everyone should believe in conservation and preservation. Every human being and animal has a contribution towards nature and people should hold their views strong on the issues related to deforestation too. People talk a lot about saving money but not about saving living beings. The tigress was hungry for two days and she had cubs too! Imagine her plight...I will do my bit till the time I am alive and I believe we all need to feel responsible.”
