Elvish received severe backlash for passing racist comments against Chum Darang and the netizens felt that he went below the belt.
The Bigg Boss winner released a video and said that he needs to clarify certain things that were told during the podcast.
‘In his vlog, Elvish responded to the criticism by saying he wants to make some clarifications. On Twitter, he saw tweets accusing him of making racial remarks about Chum Darang, a competitor on Bigg Boss 18. He admitted to removing that section from his show and recognized the controversy.
The winner said, ‘ I had said something on Chum, I told the team I said it or not I am confused but to remove it as I don’t want negativity around me. If anyone is feeling bad since I spoke like that I have removed that whole part’
He further said on the backlash from netizens, ‘Secondly, there are so many foolish people who don’t understand this. They are saying that Elvish mentioned Covid, so he is relating Chum to the Chinese. What I said was that Karan Veer had Covid, which is why he might have lost his taste and smell, and that’s why he liked Chum.
He told the fans to watch the video carefully and said, ‘I am not so low that I would tell someone what they are or what they aren’t. I stay away from such things. I have no interest in making racist comments about anyone’
Well, the backlash was severe and people were furious for the racist comments passed on Elvish.
